How It Works

Three steps from upload to download. No registration, and the one-shot tools never write your file to disk at all.

01

Upload your PDF

Drag a file onto the box at the top of the page or click to browse. Nothing to install and no account to create.

02

Edit in place

Click any existing text and type — the editor keeps the document's own font, size and colour. Add signatures, images and shapes too.

03

Download a real PDF

Save when you are done. Text you never touched stays byte-for-byte identical, and there is no watermark on the file.

Ready to try it?

Drop a PDF on the upload box above, or pick a standalone tool if you only need to merge, split or compress.

Common questions

Everything people usually want to know before uploading a file.

Can I edit the existing text in a PDF, not just add new text?

Yes. Click on any sentence in your document and retype it. The editor reads the font, size and colour that the PDF actually uses and keeps them, so your change looks like it was always part of the document. Most free tools only let you place a new text box on top — this edits the real text.

Is it really free, and will it add a watermark?

It is free and it never adds a watermark. There is no sign-up, no page limit and no trial period. You download a normal PDF that opens anywhere.

What happens to my files? Are they private?

The one-shot tools such as Merge and Compress never store your file: it goes in, the result comes out, nothing is written to disk. The editor does keep your file on the server while you work on it, so you can reload the tab without losing your edits — it is deleted automatically within a few hours, and you can delete it yourself at any time. Nothing is shared with anyone and no human reads your documents.

Can I edit a scanned PDF?

A scanned page is a photograph, so there is no text to click on yet. Running OCR first turns the picture of the words into real, selectable text, which you can then edit normally. Plain photographs of documents will always be less exact than a PDF that was created digitally.

How do I add my signature to a PDF?

Open your PDF, click Sign, and draw your signature with a mouse, trackpad or finger. It becomes a transparent image you can drop anywhere on the page, then drag and resize. Nothing shows through behind it, so it sits cleanly on a signature line.

Does this work on a phone or tablet?

Yes. It runs in the browser, so there is nothing to install on iPhone, iPad or Android. You can sign with your finger, and the tools work the same as on a computer.

How do I make a PDF smaller so I can email it?

Use the Compress tool. It first tries lossless clean-up, then reduces the size of any images, and returns whichever version is smaller — so you never end up with a file bigger than the one you started with. Scanned documents usually shrink the most.

Can I convert a PDF to Word and keep it editable?

Yes. PDF to Word rebuilds the text as a flowing Word document with the sizes, weights and colours preserved, so you can actually edit it in Word. Very complex page layouts will not line up exactly, because a PDF has no paragraphs — only fixed positions on a page.

No sign-up, no watermark

Drop in a file, click the text you want to change, and type. Every tool on this site is free, and the PDF you download is clean — nothing is stamped across it and there is no account to create first.

Never Written To Disk

Merge, split, compress and the converters stream your file straight through — it is never saved on the server at all

Deleted On Your Terms

A file you open in the editor is deleted automatically within 6 hours, and the Delete button removes it the moment you press it

No Installation

Works in the browser on any device. Nothing to download, nothing to sign up for

Most free PDF editors will not change the words already on the page — they drop a white rectangle over the old line and retype it in a font that does not match. This one edits the real text in place and reuses the font embedded in your document, so the paragraph still looks like the rest of the page.
